Bob Dylan 'Beyond Here Lies Nothin' Free Music Video

Since the early 1960s Bob Dylan has maintained his status as a music legend and an icon of the late twentieth century. Originally born Robert Zimmerman, Bob Dylan got his first record deal in 1961 at the age of 20 and, despite his début album's relatively slow commercial success, it meant he worked with many of the greats of the 1960s to develop his song writing and music composition skills. His second offering, 'The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan' was released in 1963 and signalled a change in Dylan's fortunes as he became more and more popular for his performances and song writing skills.

Many of the songs on this second album also showed Dylan's ability to capture the Zeitgeist of an era as they dealt with topics of racism, social inequality and the futility of war. Some songs became protest anthems, particularly Dylan's signature tune 'Blowin' In The Wind' which safeguarded his reputation as a civil libertarian. It also gained him some popular fans, including The Beatles with artists such as Sonny and Cher, The Turtles and The Byrds requesting to cover songs he had written. However, it was his third album which made his sand-papery voice most heard as a more cynical and politically aware Dylan created 'The Times They Are A-Changing', quickly becoming the anthem of an entire generation who experienced momentous historical events such as political assassinations, the civil rights movement and the Vietnam War.

Since this early time Dylan has created 32 studio albums, many of which have been critically acclaimed and adored by his fans. Although they have dabbled with different instruments, electro beats and other genres of music, on the whole Dylan has always stayed politically relevant and incredibly powerful in his lyrics - using the strong messages his songs send. He has also always been a fantastic live performer and has played at every major music festival and event across the globe. Since the late 1980s, many say he has been playing 'The Never Ending Tour' as he has seemingly always been on the road performing at different international venues.

Bob Dylan 'Together Through Life'

Dylan's current album is 'Together Through Life' and was released in early April 2009, hitting the number 1 album spot in numerous countries including the UK. The album received positive reviews with many 5 star ratings from music journalists, although many critics have commented that it does not stand out in Dylan's epic back catalogue. Although perhaps not a landmark piece in Dylan's extraordinary canon of music, the album is nonetheless incredibly pleasant and typically Dylan in its vocal approach and folk rock style of songs. On the album, Bob's vocals are backed by many of his touring support band, plus David Hidalgo of Los Lobos and Mike Campbell of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.

The album contains 10 tracks, most of which were lyrical collaborations between Dylan himself and Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter. 'I Feel A Change Comin' On' and 'Beyond Here Lies Nothin' are the lead tracks from the album and have been made available for free streaming following positive reviews from music journals. Dylan did not expect the album to be as successful, stating only that he knew his fans would like it.
